Special Issue on Crowd Science and Engineering (CSE)

During the past decade of development, crowdsourcing and human computation has emerged to become a key sub-field of artificial intelligence and spawned the immensely popular “sharing economy”. Today, it is hard for many people to go around carrying out their daily activities without the services provided by companies such as Uber and Airbnb. As a growing field of IT, crowdsourcing also faces many technical challenges. Researchers and industry practitioners must join forces to tackle these challenges and make crowdsourcing effective and efficient.

In this issue, we publish selected high quality papers from the 2016 International Conference on Crowd Science and Engineering (ICCSE 2016) to share with IJIT readers some of the latest advances in the emerging field of crowd computing. The goal of this issue is to bring together perspectives from both scientific research and applications engineering to share with the IJIT readers about exciting developments in crowd computing.

Authors of this special issue are leading researchers from both the academia and the industry. They share their perspectives from many countries including:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • China
  • Japan
  • Singapore
On behalf of IJIT Editorial board, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Special Issue Editors of CSE for their significant contributions:
